Charles & Family Move From Memphis To Eudora

1931 – Charles Spencer moves his family from Memphis to Eudora, east of Robinsonville. They quickly returned to Memphis and moved into a Hernando Street apartment with Robert’s half-sister Carrie and her husband Louis Harris.

At this time Robert is remembered as wearing his hair rather long and in two different styles: one similar to a ‘fro, and the other a Vaseline “wave”… his usual dress style was country brogans, khaki pants or sometimes overalls, and usually a plaid jacket.
