2011 New Generation Award Winner
Thirteen-year-old Matthew Davidson of Shreveport, LA is the winner of the Robert Johnson Gibson Guitar New Generation Award for 2011.
Matthew is “wowing audiences across the south,” according to “American Blues News.” Matthew’s long list of performances includes The King Biscuit Blues Festival, The T-Bone Walker Blues Festival, The State Fair of Louisiana, The B.B. King Homecoming Concert, The Delta Blues Fest and The House of Blues in Dallas. Matthew was featured in the 2011 International Blues Challenge Youth Showcase and while in Memphis jammed at B.B. King’s Blues Club.
As reported by International Musician magazine in Sept. 2011, “Matthew began performing professionally in 2010 and has already achieved an immense amount of recognition, support and admiration.”
