Robert’s Wife Virginia Dies

1930 – Virginia dies on April 10 at her parents’ home. Robert is not with her but was off playing music and when he finally shows up he was held to “incredible community condemnation” among Virginia’s family and friends because they felt that his pursuit of a godless lifestyle as an “evil musician” contributed to her death. Virginia was buried in the Dark Corner Cemetery.
